Music and Mental Health -
Dodson Middle School

Music therapy and emotional wellness provide powerful tools for managing stress and mental health challenges. Students at Dodson Middle School explored this connection by interviewing a local artist who uses music to cope with stress and personal difficulties. The film also features conversations with members of the school’s band and their music teacher, highlighting how musical expression and participation can serve as positive outlets for students dealing with various emotional and mental health challenges in their daily lives.

This film was created during a film workshop series with Young Moviemakers of America (YMA) during the spring 2025 semester.
