The Grape Street Elementary School Writers

Creative writing and collaboration continue to flourish at Grape Street Elementary School in their second year of student-authored storytelling. Building on the success of year one, where 20 individual writers creating their own stories, this year’s project evolved to emphasize teamwork as students collaborated in groups to create original stories. The resulting collection showcases how shared creativity and cooperative writing can produce rich, imaginative stories that demonstrate the power of working together while developing essential literacy and communication skills.

This film was created during a film workshop series with Young Moviemakers of America (YMA) during the spring 2025 semester.

"If our stories aren't told by us, they aren't told correctly."
