Through the Los Angeles Fires: 2025
Gompers Middle School
Natural disaster awareness and community resilience are critical topics for young people to understand. Students at Gompers Middle School created an extensively researched film about the 2025 Los Angeles fires, investigating the various factors that may have contributed to these devastating events. Through interviews with a firefighter professional, their teacher, and someone personally affected by the fires, students gained valuable insights into emergency preparedness, environmental factors, and community impact. This highly informative film demonstrates the importance of thorough research and firsthand perspectives in understanding complex real-world events.
This film was created during a film workshop series with Young Moviemakers of America (YMA) during the spring 2025 semester.
